Kalangan proudly presents, the bundles of talents who have been associated with Kalangan since their blooming days and are today's rising stars in the fields of music, dance, drama, television and films.



Rasika Joglekar Sathe

Rasika Joglekar   Rasika has been an intergral part of Kalangan from the first day of Kalangan. She has not only performed in Kalangan's "Kuhukuhu", "Pungiwala", "Prabhat Darshan", "Krishnamela", "Rangnayika", "Bhairavi The beginning" and so on, but has also been an active participant in all projects and events of Kalangan. Her professional dream is to become a Japanese Translator and she has completed two levels of Business Japanese Exam conducted by Japan Trade Organization and has recently visited Japan on a scholarship program. Her extra-curricular achievments include - performances in many semi-classical and natyasangeet programmes, "Pandit Ram Marathe Natyasangeet Scholarship" for year 2007 and partipation in "Maze Jeevan Gane" Programme on Etv Marathi.

Sagar Sathe

Sagar Sathe   Sagar has been performing in almost every program of Kalangan since its inception. He is a professional Harmonium and Keyboard player. He has learnt harmonium from Shri Anil Kerkar and keyboard from Shri. Satish Bontal and is presently receiving guidance from Kamlesh Bhadkamkar. He is also learning classical music from Smt. Varsha Bhave. Sagar has performed in various musical programs and T.V. shows. He has accompanied great artists like Smt. Uttara Kelkar, Shri. Ravindra Sathe, Vaishali Samant, Smt. Varsha Bahve. He has also performed on T.V. shows like "Maze Jeevan Gane" on ETV Marathi, "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa" Mega Finals on Zee Marathi and so on.

Poorvi Bhave

Poorvi Bhave   A Master of fine arts, a trained Bharatnatyam dancer for over 14 years under the eminent Guru Dr. Sandhya Purecha and a well known anchor on the "Star Majha" channel ( Nomimanted for the best female anchor - News category for the prestigious Maharashtra Times Sanman Awards 2008 ), Poorvi is a multi-faceted personality. She has won many prizes right from the University intercollegiate youth festival level to the Zonal and National Youth festivals in drama and singing. She has been an integral part of all Kalangan's programs. Her other noted professional achievements include - choreography for "Shravanranga" - a product of Miti creations in association with Loksatta, dance performances at Kala Ghoda Festival Mumbai (MTDC), Jhansi Festival at Jhansi, Haridas Sammelan organized by Sur Singar Parishad (Mumbai) to name a few, anchoring for "Etv" Marathi's musical show "Gun Gun Gani", compeering for Krunal Music company's cassettes/CDs and participation in some of the dramas aired on AIR Mumbai .

Ketaki Bhave

Ketaki Bhave   Ketaki is a Visharad from the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalay, M.A. in classical vocal music from S.N.D.T. and a diploma holder from the Sharada Sangeet Vidyalaya under the guidance of Shri.Yashwant Deo. She has also been learning Hindustani classical music from Smt. Varsha Bhave. She has been actively involved in many of the programmes organized by Kalangan. Ketaki has received numerous awards like the "Theatre Centre of India Award for Natyasangeet" from Dadar-Matunga Cultural Centre. She has won several prizes like Etv-Marathi's "Saptasur Ek Sargam", "Vishnu Digambar Paluskar award" to name a few. Her noted professional achievements include - participation in the much acclaimed "M2G2" on the Sahyadri channel, playback for the title song of "Punha Ekada Tak Dhina Dhin" on Mi Marathi channel with swapnil bandodkar, playback for the play "Kaya Anjor" by Dr. Zahir, playback for songs in the movie "Vaibhav Laxmi", three songs for ETv's album "Nach Dhamaal", performances in the shows with the likes of Shridhar Phadke, Kaushal Inamdar, Ajit Parab, Madhuri Karmarkar, Sonali Karnik and Mandar Apte.

Dipti Lokhande

Dipti Lokhande   A Visharad from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya and M.A. in classical vocal music from S.N.D.T. , Dipti has been learning Hindustani classical music and light music from Smt. Varsha Bhave since last seven years. She has completed the light music diploma conducted by Pt. Yashwant Deo. Dipti has received the natyasangeet scholarship from Dadar Matunga Cultural Center for the year 2008, has won special prizes in S.N.D.T. college youth festivals and Aavishkhar cultural events and has bagged first prizes in various intercollegiate competitions. She has actively participated in Kalangan's "Krishnamela", "Prabhat Darshan", 'Kadambachya Zadakhalee", "Bhairavi-The beginning" and so on. Among her noted professional achievements are - programs "Shravanrang" and "Swagat" on the Mumbai AIR, songs in the CDs "Bhavtarang" , "Shatjanma shodhitana" and her song in the drama "Jago Mohan Pyare". Dipti wishes to persue a career in Hindustani classical and light music and is currently preparing for M.Phil.

Vaishali Bhadkamkar

Vaishali Bhadkamkar   Vaishali has been associated with Kalangan since its inception. She has learnt Bharatnatyam under the able tutelage of Guru Dr. Sandhya Purecha for over 20 yers and has completed M.F.A. in Bharatnatyam through Kalidas University, Nagpur. She has performed in the "Youth Festival" organized by Nehru Centre, Ballets like "Parvati Parinay", "Shivaleelamrutam", "Dashavtaar", "Ek Shloki Ramayan", "Geeta Saar", "Amrapali" with renowned actress Jaya Prada and Buddha with Saroj Khan. She has also performed at various prestigeous festivals such as "Elephanta festvial". Also, she has choreographed "Nakshatranche Dene" for Zee Marathi and "Ganapati festival special" for Doordarshan Channel. She has creatively composed dances and choreographed for many of Kalangan's programmes such as "Prabhatdarshan" and "Krishnamela".

Rupali Desai

Rupali Desai   A graded artist with Mumbai Doordarshan and recipient of "Nrityalankar" from the Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Rupali is an eminent Kathak dancer who has received rigorous training under the able tutelage of Smt. Manjiri Deo for over 20 years. Some of her major performances include the "Padmashree Natarj GopiKrishna Mahotsav" - Thane, "Swami Haridas Sammelan" - Mumbai, "Vasantotsava" - New Delhi with Pt. Birju Maharaj's Kalashram. Rupali's versatility is evident from her acting career on stage, T.V. and in films. Some of her popular plays include "Shri tashi Sau", "Zala Ekdacha" and "Asech Amhi Sare". She has starred in the popular T.V. serials such as "Bandini", "Janmabandha" and "Niragas". She has also done choreographed in the Marathi film "Vacation". Rupali has performed in and choreographed many of Kalangan's programmes like "Shatajanma Shodhitana", "Ranganayika" and "Hallagulla Rasagulla".

Manasi Marathe

Manasi Marathe   Manasi was associated with Kalangan for over five years since its inception, before she settled in U.S.A. post marriage. She is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer and has received training since the age of 7 years under the able tutelage of Smt. Sucheta Bhide Chapekar and Smt. Prasanna Athalye. She has also learnt Hindustani classical music for over 7 years under the guidence of smt Varsha Bhave. She performed the lead role of the "pied Piper" in Kalangan's "Pungiwala", choreographed the dance ballet "Krishna Mela" and performed in "Kuhu Kuhu". Recently, she arranged a musical programme for small kids in Des Moines, Iowa, which was based on Indian nursary rhymes. She also introduced Hindustani classical music in Westridge Elementry school, west des moines, IA in April 2008.

Ketaki Patankar-Vaidya

Ketaki Patankar-Vaidya   Ketaki is a highly qualified graphics designer and has diversified experience in industrial, paper media and artistic graphic designing. She has been associated with Kalangan since 2003 and has been successfully bearing the all round responsibilities of Kalangan's day-to-day activites. A special mention needs to be made that the creative artwork behind many of Kalangan's books, brochures, CD covers such as "Bhavtarang", "Jungle gani", "Vishvanatya sutradhar", "Swaroop sanjeevani" as well as newspaper advertisements have been designed and created by Ketaki.

Hanumant Rawde

Hanumant Rawde   Music has always been very close to Hanumant's heart. His father being from the "Warkari Sampraday", he received the priliminary training of music from his father. This was followed by formal training in Pakhawaj from Shri. Kisan Raut, Shri. Madhav Pawar and Tabla from Shri. Laxman Shinde. Hanumant today is a regular performer in music recordings and live shows with his talent in percussion, especially the Pakhawaj. He has also sparkled in numerous television programs on ETv Marathi, Zee Marathi, Mee Marathi and Sahyadri channels. Hanumant has been associated with Kalangan for a long time and has since been actively involved in Kalangan's overall activites. Hanumant is receiving valuable guidance in different aspects of music from Smt. Varsha Bhave and Kamlesh Bhadkamkar.

Varad Kathapurkar

Varad Kathapurkar   Varad is a well known flutist of the younger generation. He has had the good fortune to have been trained by legendary late Pt. Malharrao Kulkarni and is presently receiving classical training from Pt. Rupak Kulkarni. Varad is a grade B artist of Mumbai Akashwani since 2007 and has performed in stage shows with renowned music directors such as Ajay-Atul, Shridhar Phadke, Ashok Patki, Kaushal Inamdar, Kamlesh Bhadkamkar. He has also performed in Zee TV Marathi's much acclaimed "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa" and "Maze Jeevan Gane" and "Gaurav Maharashtracha" on ETV Marathi. He has recently played background scores of Marathi and Hindi movies.

Abhijit Joshi

Abhijit Joshi   Born in a family with great interest in music, his grandfather was an exponent in the art of Samveda gayan. Naturally, Abhijit became fond of music at a very early age. He bagan learning harmonium under the tutelage of Shri. Pannalal Banerjee and then under Shri. Anil Kerkar. Abhijit got associated with Kalangan a few years ago after meeting Kamlesh Bhadkamkar and has since been actively participating in Kalangan's events. Abhijit receives valuable guidance in different aspects of music from Kamlesh Bhadkamkar, Smt. Varsha Bhave and Sagar Sathe.

Sayli Mahadik

Sayli Mahadik   Sayli received her initial training in music from Mr. Mandar Soman. She is currently learning music from Smt. Varsha Bhave. Also, she is currently receiving training in Bharatnatyam from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalay. Sayali has won many prestigeous music competitions such as "Kalangan Gunanidhi - 2005" and "Kalyan Dombivli Talent Hunt". She has performed in Kalangan's "Zing Chyak Zing - Nakshatranche Dene" children's special on Zee Marathi and has anchored ETv Marathi's "Sa Sa Sare Gare" antakshari. She has acted in popular T.V. serials such as "Vasudha", "Jhep", "Divsendivas" and "Gangubai Nonmatric".

Somesh Narwekar

Somesh Narwekar   Music has always been the way of living for Somesh. He is an aspiring singer. He has won prestigeous competitions such as ETv Marathi's "Gun Gun Gani", "Kalangan Gunanidhi - 2001". He has rendered his voice for Zee T.V. Marathi's "Nakshatranche Dene - Mangesh Padgaonkar".

Spruha Joshi

Spruha Joshi   Receipient of many prestigeous awards like the "Balshri Award - 2003 for creative writing" by the Govt. of India, the "Kavi Kusumgraj Puraskar" by "Shree Akshargranth" Publication, Spruha is truely a versatile personality. Besides her recently published collection of poems - "Chandanchura", Spruha has done creative writing for the popular youth oriented section - "college club reporter" for Maharashtra's leading newspaper - Loksatta. She has bagged numerous awards for her acting in various one-act playes like "Ga Ma Bha Na", "Yugmak" and "Ananya". She has starred in the popular Marathi T.V. serial "De Dhammal", the short-film "Chirayu" by Sai Paranjape and the much acclaimed Marathi movie "MaayBaap" by Gajendra Ahire.

Avanti Patel ( Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs Fame )

Avanti Patel ( Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs Fame )   Avanti has been learning classical music from her guru, Varsha Bhave, for over seven years. She has also been regularly participating in Kalangan's programmes such as "Pungiwala", "Krishna Mela", "Asha Ke phool", "Jallosh" to name a few. Avanti has shown unbelievable progress, both as a singer and as a person, thanks to Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. She has always been a gifted singer, but she has practised hard and taken efforts to improve her singing talent. She modulates her voice to suit the temperament of any song - be it lavani, pop, bhaav geet, abhanga and even natya sangeet!. She doesn't just sing, she breathes life into her music. She peforms; and actually becomes the song. In fact, it is these qualities which helped her to be among the top 7 in the much acclaimed "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs".

Gauri Vaidya

Gauri Vaidya   In a span of seven years Gauri has given noticable performances in various films, dramas, T.V. shows and plays. She has starred in Marathi films like "Bhau majha pathirakha", "Avhaan", T.V. shows like "Vyakti ani Valli", "Chaar Divas Sasuche", "Zip Zap Zoom", children films like ""Heda-Hoda", "Chaka Chak", international short films like Basu Chatterjee's "Water", international film "VISA BIRD", professional dramas like "Dadachi Girlfriend". A special mention must be made of her performance in successful film "De Dhakka" whichreceived accolades from classes as well as masses. Gauri has also been associated with Kalangan since her early days and has participated in Kalangan's "Krishna Mela", "Kuhu Kuhu", "Prabhat Darshan", "Nakshatranche Dene - Zing chak zing", "Kadambachya Jhadakhali"
